A storm drill at Basgiath becomes a real breach when the signal flags spell out Violet’s next impossible choice.
Opening
The drill begins with rain, horns, and a formation Violet has practiced until her ribs ache. Then the flags change order, spelling a command no instructor gave. If she breaks formation, command can blame her for the breach. If she waits, the false drill turns discipline into a kill box. Xaden has seen part of the signal before and is not saying where.
